Matcha

A sophisticatedly bitter infusion prepared by whisking fine-ground tea leaves into piping hot water. Drinking it properly requires such finesse that Hingashi is home to many a school focused solely on perfecting the art. An after-supper beverage naturally sweetened with dried persimmons. Widely popular in the Far East. (100 gil) *

Sake

Hingan rice wine. A perfect evening refreshment to have with guests ─ though using it as an afternoon refreshment alone is not unheard of. (500)

Urchin Loaf

Sea urchin corals mixed with mushrooms and herbs into a paste that is then placed back into the urchin shell and baked until hard. (100 gil)

Miso Dengaku

Stiff tofu squares and vegetables impaled on a stick and slathered in a sweet miso sauce then roasted over hot coals. (100 gil) *

Persimmon Leaf Sushi

One of many varieties of the Hingan dish sushi, this iteration consists of sweet vinegared rice topped with fish, pressed into a narrow rectangle, and finally wrapped in green persimmon leaves. (100 gil)

Taiyaki

Doman fish-shaped cake, commonly sold as street food. It is usually filled with red bean paste, but guests can request other fillings such as custard, chocolate, cheese, or sweet potato. (50 gil)

Sweet Rice Cake

This three-layered rice cake has been molded into a diamond shape. The coloring used in the layers has medicinal properties. (50 gil)

Colorful clusters of crystalline sugar ─ a childhood treat for Hingans and Domans alike. (50 gil)

Konpira Fune Fune

The two players face each other and alternate touching the box or table between them. If the box is on the table when it is their turn, they must touch the box with a flat hand. If the box is not on the table when it is their turn, they must touch the table with a fist. Failure to do either means you lose the game. Success or failure is determined by both server and guest rolling a d20. There are a total of three rounds and the rewards vary on who wins and how many times they win.1 Win - A free dessert item.2 Wins - A free bottle of sake.3 Wins - A favor granted. IC

- All characters who come to the tearoom are asleep inherently. They can either remember falling asleep or not, that is up to player discretion.- Gil spent does not have to be OOC but it is IC and will be gone from the characters coffers when they wake up.- Though characters may speak other languages and those languages will be heard, all characters will understand the words spoken to them without needing translation.- Characters may fight, but there will be consequences such as being expelled from the dream all together.

The result of his work is nothing less than some of the finest matcha one may have the pleasure of enjoying. Whisked before ones very eyes, it is smooth and sophisticatedly bitter and leaves one feeling warm and content enough to dream peacefully when next they give in to sleep. (200 gil)

Dreamy Doman Tea

Freshly brewed at the market, this tea is hot and sweet with pieces of dried persimmons floating about within. A single sip is accompanied by a wave of comfort and should one finish their cup they will certainly feel much more relaxed than they were before, perhaps even a little sleepy. (100 gil)

Somnolent Sakurayu

Usually drank only on special occasions, this tea is made by steeping pickled cherry blossoms in hot water. It is floral, salty, and subtly sweet with pink petals dancing within the cup, shimmering as if otherworldly. Simply breathing in the steam is enough to calm one’s nerves, and finishing the cup will leave one feeling at ease and ready for a good nights rest. (200 gil)

Tea Leaf Readings

One must first purchase a cup of tea (excluding our Masterfully Made Macha) and drink it fully before The Host can scry from the leaves left behind. From these leaves the inquiring party shall learn of their past, present, and future. (Market Goers will be asked to roll a d100 thrice to determine the shapes found within their cup).

Omamori

Inside these small brocade bags are wooden amulets inscribed with one of eight different protective invocations. One may request protection for travel, protection from evil, better fortune/luck, educational success, prosperity in business/money, romantic/marital success, fertility health, and familial safety/prosperity in the household. These are meant to be worn on ones person, tied to a bag or belt, and kept close. (1,000 gil)

Kamifuda

These protective talismans are made from paper and stamped with the seal of a long forgotten shrine along side the neatly scribed name of a long forgotten deity. Nonetheless, they work efficiently to ward off dark spirits from entering one’s home and keep misfortune at bay. One need simple place them at the gate, entrance, or ceiling of their home to reap its benefits. (1,000 gil)
